Fall 2026 Square Dance Classes

Good News!
Waterloo Squares will host Square Dance and Line Dance Lessons in the Fall of 2026.
​
Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2026, and will be held at Trinity Church of Austin located at 4001 Speedway, Austin, TX 78751. 7:15 pm to 8:30 pm will be for Mainstream (Beginner) Lessons, and 8:30 pm to 9:45 pm will be for Plus Lessons.

During Open House, you will be introduced to some basic Square Dance calls and Line Dance moves, so come and join the fun!
The church is located on the corner of Speedway and East 40th Street. Parking is across the street from the church. (across 40th Street) And enter the church through the 40th Street entrance.

After the Open House event, Lessons will be on Thursday evenings at this same location.

Mainstream (Beginner) Square Dance Lessons and Line Dance Lessons will be from 7:15 pm to 8:30 pm., and

Plus Square Dance Lessons will be from 8:30 pm to 9:45 pm. (if we have enough interested in taking Plus Lessons)

NOSTALGIA
Square dances were first documented in 16th-century England but were also quite common in France and throughout Europe. They came to North America with the European settlers and have undergone considerable development there.
Some of these traditional dances include English Country Dance, Caledonians and the Quadrille.
