Starting June 24th Waterloo Squares will be back on the dance floor! We will be dancing on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church located at 3525 Bee Caves Rd.  Austin, TX.  On August 31st we will move back to dancing on Tuesday nights at the South Austin Senior Activity Center.  We look forward to seeing everyone and sharing a square!

Spring 2020 Square Dance Classes

We put friendship to music

January 9, 2020 we will start our Spring square dance classes, singles, couples, families, and teens welcome.


As always, the first two lessons are FREE so join us for some fun! Casual attire is fine and a dance partner is not required.


Beginner Lessons: 7:00 to 8:30pm

DBD Plus Concepts: 8:30 to 10:00pm

Square dances were first documented in 16th-century England but were also quite common in France and throughout Europe. They came to North America with the European settlers and have undergone considerable development there.  


Some of these traditional dances include English Country Dance, Caledonians and the Quadrille.
